The JUPITER INLET CAR WASH & ISLAND BOUTIQUE, South Florida’s newest and GREENEST car wash located at 1441 N. Alternate A1A in Jupiter will be celebrating it’s Grand Opening June 6. This is great news for a community hard hit by the tough economy; this environmentally friendly business is providing over 35 new jobs. The Askeland Family (Gunnar, Sr., Sue, Gunnar, Jr. & Karly), who have resided in Palm Beach County for over 30 years, joined forces to build a one-of-a-kind upscale car wash (minus the upscale prices) including a gift boutique with stylish island home décor, beach fashions, greeting cards and a complimentary Gourmet Espresso Bar. Gunnar, Sr., a retired Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation for over 27 years, and Sue, a retired Flight Attendant with TWA migrated from New York in 1976 to raise their children Karly and Gunnar, Jr. by the sea. Karly and Gunnar, Jr. attended The Benjamin School where Sue worked as “the nook lady” selling uniforms and books. The dream of a family business took seed with Gunnar, Jr., who has operated his own mobile paintless dent removal business in Palm Beach County for over 10 years, and will now provide his dent removal services on site. In September 2007, the family acquired the one acre property just south of Walgreen’s on Alternate A1A just off of US 1, and hired Vincenza International Architects and Snow Construction to construct the Key West style structure. The easement accesses to the property make for a perfect setup: cars can enter from both the back of the property (US1) and the front (Alternate A1A). A streamlined approach to car washing loads cars into the wash tunnel in less than 50 seconds, followed by vacuuming and drying simultaneously at the end to conserve time.

The family’s environmental conscience has driven them to create as GREEN of a business as possible: they have incorporated a green saving water plan that recycles the water through revolutionary Ozone Gravitational Filtration Technology; reclaims and stores the rain water which is used to irrigate the draught-resistant landscaping; all soaps & chemicals are environmentally friendly; all paper products are 100% recycled.
